I went into Gaspar's not expecting much. At first glance, the menu isn't big but it is full of flavor. I had the Ybor Cuban and it was one of the best Cuban sandwiches that I've had in Tampa. I was even surprised by how good the fries were. Everyone from the servers to the cooks and bartenders were nice and made a point to talk to us. The beer list is full of great options. As for drinks, during happy hour you can get a double for the price of a single. The patio is dog-friendly and would've been a good option if it weren't the middle of summer. The parking lot could've been bigger, but we were able to find the last available space. I'd go back later at night because they have live bands sometimes and it's more of a bar atmosphere.

I don't go to this place too often because it's a little out of the way, but I always have a good time when I do. Maybe I'm a little inebriated by the time I decide to order food, but to me the wings are some of the best in Tampa, the other stuff I've tried is normal bar food quality. I'm thankful that there is no dessert on their menu because drunk me would probably eat all the ice cream in the world. The waitresses are great, very attentive and friendly, no matter how late it is. Don't miss the liquor store next door! I don't know how they fit so much in a relatively small space, but they seem to have *everything*. The only drawback is parking gets a little ugly, so if you get there later at night you're gonna have a bad time trying to find a spot.

I use to love this place but my last few visits were not good at all. One visit my husband had on a tshirt and was told we cant serve you with a wife beater shirt, I never knew shirts are called wife beaters. We left and didnt go back for months until I convince my husband to try this place again. Well this time service was slow, we sat at table for over 15 mintues before someone came over then the waitress was getting our order while talking to people around her so we had to repeat our order more then once. Food is okay but the staff needs to do better Havent been back.

The food is typical bar food... lots of fried options to choose from. The drinks are great, wide variety of brands and you can't beat the prices at happy hour! Servers seem nice. Atmosphere on the patio is nice and they let you bring your 4 legged friend, which is nice. If the food was better, I would have given a higher rating,

Really great oyster spread, went late night and was surprised by the good looking plate of oysters. Only downside was out of the proprietors hands...the darn droning of the seeming drunk couple who kept the karaoke machine company all night haha. Will be back for oysters and they were nice enough to sub chips for tater tots in their nachos.

Great staff, friendly, attentive and accommodating! The wings were really good as well as their chips and salsa. The atmosphere is kicked back, inviting, and fun... Will definitely come back next time I'm in town!! I edited this review bc we ended up staying until 2:30 am!! The two guys singing on the deck, one guy was Jeremy, they were AWESOME!! They had unbelievable voices, great choice of music, and were very friendly and fun!! I definitely recommend this place to anyone especially to watch some football, eat some wings, have a ice cold beer, and kick back!!

Looks like a very fun place. Rick the bartender was more than awesome. But it seemed like the rest of the staff thinks its a place to play. I was shoulder bumped by a server that gave me a rude look. Many more servers were just plain rude and that was just walking to and from the bathroom. Only way i would go back is to call and see if rick was working otherwise no thanks

Gaspars Liquor Shoppe, located next to Gaspar's Patio Bar & Grille is one of the best liquor stores in the entire bay area. From a diverse selection of liquors and wines to a classy layout with proper lighting to highlight rare whiskey, rum and other spirits, this place is a joy to shop at. Jimmy, the owner, is friendly and helpful and has worked with our club, the Tampa Bay Whiskey Society, on events as well as helped us locate rare bottles and meet local distillers. The prices are spot on and don't gouge you on what are otherwise highly allocated bottles. And with a tasting bar to put on regular tasting events, it is just a fun place to buy your liquor and taste something new. I highly recommend stopping by Gaspar's if your in the area and into quality liquor.

Gaspars catered our company party. Super huge draft and liquor choices. Liquor store next door. Food is mediocre at best. Just bar food. As a bar, it is winning. Two bars, a game room, and a dog patio.

A great little local place that we always frequent when we want to get together with friends. What more could you ask for in a local restaurant? Outside seating with live music, inside seating with a full bar, juke boxes, and pool tables, and an attached liquor store that rivals any chain in the area. Love this place!

Good solid beer list and a plethora of options to eat. The server we had was great and they had so karaoke playing as well, but it wasn't very loud. I like taking people here because it is something different than all of the other bars in the Temple Terrace area. Has a nice sit down area on one side an outside seating in the middle and billards hall on the other side. Has tons of options for everyone.

In the past I always had great things to say about Gaspars but the past two times we have come here not only was the service bad but the food was awful. We ordered an appetizer and our meals then received our dinner but the server forgot about the about appetizer. When she finally brought the nachos out I realized I could make something better myself. We used to come here all the time but honestly the only reason why we will come back is to drink but that is even stretching it at this point.

Have been here twice for weekday lunch recently because of a groupon they have offered. Both times not impressed with staff. The place had next to no one. The only thing that keeps me coming back is the oysters. They are great, but I can't give more than 2 stars because all you do is shuck- they are not cooking or having to prepare. Other food is just typical bar food and the blue cheese is horrible.

** Edit** The fact that a fake 5-star review was posted just hours after I wrote this makes me more than suspicious. I'm not surprised that it claims that the owner is improving the place. That's verbatim the same thing they say in all their fake reviews, responses, and even the personal message sent to me. Rephrase much? Perhaps Gaspar's should work on their service so that they won't have to write fake reviews to even out their ratings in the first place! Original post: I think is a good place to go if you're a nightly regular. If you're not, don't expect a fantastic dining experience. I live really close by and would be happy to come here all the time if the service was better. I will say the premise is great, love the decor, and it's dog-friendly. (That's the best part.) However, just like earlier reviews mentioned, they've got some issues... specifically, service and speed. No one likes the feeling that a restaurant doesn't want you to be there and doesn't care. Upon seating ourself, for example, we didn't get a greeting/menu for over 10 minutes. We started to wonder why they were ignoring us! Gaspar's seems to cater to the regulars and make everyone else wait - and read the previous reviews, I'm not alone in feeling that way. If a problem is repeatedly mentioned... fix it! The owner seems to keep replying to people's bad reviews saying they've fixed their problems and implemented changes but that is not the case obviously. Stop talking and start DOING. The service is just a disaster. I'm one of many yelpers who noticed that the staff spends most of their time talking to their friends. As for the food: it's bar food. We were told about specials and ordered one and didn't get the discounted price that was mentioned. Oh well. This wasn't my first visit. I've been for beers before with a group a few times and we seemed to do okay. It's a decent sports bar and surprisingly big. The inside has pool tables and TVs while the outside has a colorful deck and spot for live music. But... I just didn't feel welcome. For dinner with your significant other or a first-timer I'd skip it.

The bar service was excellent as always. They have a descent selection of beer with exception of the Southern Tier Warlock(get rid of it.) I usually order the Cuban from the kitchen and enjoy it. I will never order the Cuban again. Their was barely anything on it and the bread was horrible. I get trying to save money, but they just ruined a great sandwich. I'll give Gaspars 5's as soon as they bring there original Cuban back.

I finally made it here and placed a to-go order. My wings were not crispy (longer cooking time) as requested, and there was a lonnnnng black hair wrapped around one of the wings. I just threw the wings out. I wasn't going to drive 20 minutes back for more food. As seems to be par for Temple Terrace. When you're in a poor area of Tampa, you are going to get a specific low-quality service from the employees. Even McDonanald's at 56th/Fowler RARELY gets it right.

I'm very disappointed in Gaspar's! My friends and I come here weekly to participate in karaoke and hang out. I'm highly displeased in the lack of consistent service. Last night we were told that we have to purchase 2 items to participate in karaoke which has never been the case. Ironically after we purchase our 2 items, we're then told they decided to close karaoke. Every week we leave around midnight and karaoke is still ongoing but all of a sudden this week karaoke ends an hour into it. This is something we look forward to every week and it seems as though we were played only to spend money and not be able to participate in the karaoke that they proudly promote they offer every day. As I was typing this review, the manager Amy comes out of no where and yells about us not having to pay our bill but we cannot come back? We were the ones inconvenienced and then were punished. I've never experienced this from any establishment and can't help but wonder if we were being pushed away because we brought a little diversity to Gaspar's. Whatever the reason may be, this type of treatment is unwarranted and not professional.

Friendly bartenders, tasty food, and specials for people in the service industry! Amazing selection of draft beer as well, something like 50 beers on tap. It's my go-to spot after work to wind down with my boilermaker and pack of cheap cigarettes. It's a little pricey but the 2 for 1s more than make up for it. Karaoke every night is a huge bonus, always entertaining whether you sing or not :).

Decent bar, usually pretty good bands on the weekends. Decent food for bar food, tried almost everything. Nice outside patio where the bands usually are. Two stars for the horrible service we had from a girl named Stevie, you will regret going if you get her and we did twice. The other waitress was good, but Stevie got a $5 tip for 4 drinks and 5 minutes of service, then she brought the bill back and said, "what, the service wasn't good?" The time before that she told my date, "I can't believe you ate all that". I'll bump this up the four stars if the manager responds". And if you get her move or ask for someone else.

I have a lot of friends who have always raved about this place. It never sounded like a place that I would have liked. It sounded very loud, hipster and "collegey" (if that's a word). Boy was I wrong... I had a great time here! A group of friends went here for someones birthday and had a blast. This place is a mixture of a delicious beach bar, with a patio bar, with an oyster bar, and a billiards and games place all together! This is a very spacious site, which surprised me with a lot of outdoor seating, a smaller bar inside and a bar with 6 pool tables and dart boards. How fun! The food was delicious. Who knew that oysters would be so good here in Florida. I've always thought of them as a west coast thing. I loved the oysters. They were fresh and cold and had a great sauce to have with them. The fries and wings were awesome s well. The drinks were strong and reasonably priced. They have a great deal on pitchers of beer. The vibe and atmosphere here is very cool and fun. There is something for everyone to do here, whether it's kick back and chill outside or play a few rounds of darts or pool or just have a good meal. This is the place!

Marginal experience. My friend and I, like others, went when it was not busy and received service from the Bar only after the 3 gals were done chatting. When we initially arrived, a mid - shift bartender was on but about to come off, but served us for about 30 minutes and she was fantastic. When the evening shift showed up the service stopped. They either talked to themselves, or the regulars, or were completely absent from the bar in excess of 30 minutes. Food was typical fried bar fare; nothing to write home about. Patio experience was much better with a dedicated waitress on a second visit. I can't knock the bar too much for bartenders catering more to regulars- I've been on both sides of that before and I know how important repeat business is. However, in order to gain NEW repeat customers, you really need to treat them like regulars, or at the very least, like normal paying customers. Especially if it's not busy (which it wasn't), and also if they're sitting right at the bar, clearly watching you not be busy while ignoring them to chat it up with each other. We will return again, as it's a fun place to hang out and grab some drinks and bar food, but we'll probably stay away from the bar area and opt for the patio, in case we ever want more than one drink or a refill on a water.

I love coming here on Saturday nights for karaoke. Great wings, friendly, local crowd, the servers are friendly, and not too hard on the eyes. There are actually three bars, one has pool tables and darts, there's the middle part which is outdoors, with kind of a beach bar feel, and then the main bar. There's also a liquor store attached. If you've never been, you should check it out. Parking gets a bit cramped at night, but other than that, no complaints. They also have theme nights, like pajama night :-) Was here again last night, just wanted to compliment Kassia on her frienly and attentive service!

Cheap neighborhood bar. Has trivia night, karaoke, pool, and 3 different vibes. Food is alright - nothing to write home about.

Manager was rude and short... Horrible experience..attempted to speak with her a second time in regards to misunderstanding involving my request for a double.. she walked away and stated she "does not have time for this"!!
